Fox Skate AM Jordan Price Making Moves At Florida Bowlriders Cup

Three days, three parks, three contests – back to back to back. That is the wild formula that makes up the Florida Bowlriders Cup. Fox’s Jordan Price took second place at each individual contest and second place overall this year! Congratulations Jordan! We are super proud of you kid!!!!

Below is what Jordan’s biggest fan, supporter and good ol’ dad Fred Price had to say about how this weekend’s event went down.
“It’s hard to believe that the Florida Bowlriders Cup has come and gone. It all happened so fast. Kona Skatepark, the brand new New Smyrna Beach Skatepark, and Cocoa Beach Skatepark were all hosts for the event this weekend. If there is one thing to be said about the entire contest it’s got to be the level of skateboarding that went down. Maybe it’s because pool skating is so gnar and I just couldn’t believe my eyes or the up and coming skaters nowadays are just that good. If you want to be a Pro skateboarder for a living, you definitely have your work cut out for you. The level of these riders was first class. This year was jam packed with people from out of state and is a sure sign that FBC 2010 will be absolutely ridiculous.”

The structure for this event was very demanding on all the riders and was a true test of endurance. Riders dug deep in their bags to hold on to their rankings in an attempt to be crowned the ‘09 Bowlriders Cup Champion. Fred continues, “…A huge thank you goes out to FOX, DNA, Globe, Nixon, Darkstar, Origin, and after this weekend – Type S wheels. You guys keep Jordan in tip-top shape for these events and we, his family, appreciate it more than anything. By supporting Jordan in more ways than we can say thank you for, you are giving him the best opportunity to attain his dream of being a professional skateboarder. Being able to be at so many events is what keeps him flowing strong. We could never do that without you. So one last time – thank you.”

Contest 1 @ KONA Skatepark – This is the infamous KONA pool. It is the breeding ground for some of the best pool skateboarders in the world. I wish I could go into details and tell you everything but it would be more of a book than an update. Jordan first qualified 2nd to go to the finals and then landed 2nd place after all was said and done. He ripped it.

Contest 2 @ New Smyrna Beach Skatepark – This park is brand new and I have yet to hear a single person say that they don’t like it. The new clover pool has vert around the entire thing and is super-smooth. Jordan once again made his way to the finals and finished off in second place. Danny Way, you should know that Jordan did like a 5 foot Stalefish Madonna in the deep end that no one could believe. It was straight off of the H-Street video. People were like, “What? I saw Danny Way do that,” they all knew what it was and where it came from. It was crazy to say the least, but still only good for 2nd. That was the caliber of skaters here.

Contest 3 @ Cocoa Beach Skatepark – Cocoa Beach was nearly an exact duplicate of the last couple of days. Crazy, ridiculous skating, so much so that my head was tired of shaking side to side from disbelief. Every time I turned around it was either someone at 12 o’clock in the cradle, someone was doing rock slides in the deep end for days, Jordan’s doing heelflips and back crails in these crazy pockets and people were doing transfers that nobody has ever even seen. It was all good. In the end, Jordan qualified and ultimately got 2nd place again. Three 2nd place finishes, three different parks, three different cities = a 2nd place overall in the open amateur division of the 2009 Florida Bowlriders Cup.

TampaAm Vert (held during the TampaPro) is March 21-23. We’ll be there. I believe it will be broadcast live on the Tampa site, so catch it if you can.” –Fred Price

We will be here bringing the news to you as more unfolds from Jordan…

Congrats LOOP’d Member Kyle Vernon for being featured on the moto section of the LOOPd community. Looking solid in your Fox Encore pants and jersey kid. Not quite sure what boots you are wearing there, but…we can overlook that, I guess. I am also unsure if you are a member of the Fox Brigade community or if you will even read this.
If you aren’t already a member you should join here www.foxbrigade.com How about this: the one who shows this posting to our friend Kyle here and gets him to contact me letting me know that it was you that pointed him in this direction, will receive a free Fox sticker kit and so will Kyle. Eric G in Hawaii

Eric Geiselman’s brother Evan (also phenomenal on a surfboard) was featured in the Surfline series "When Groms Attack: New Smyrna Beach," where he gave his brother some genuine props.

“He’s gnarly on the drums; He has a lot of talent in everything he does. Eric as a brother is really good. He looks after me and gets me food when I need food. He’s sick!!”
– Evan Geiselman

Currently Eric is on the North Shore pulling in to meaty tubes and blowing up at the world famous reefs along the seven-mile miracle. Below are a few frame grabs from his Hawaii antics. Video to soon to follow.

San Diego Race Report

Posted on 2/25/2009

The San Diego race is the last west coast race before the series heads east. It’s also the last race for the West Coast LITES riders before they go on a 7-week break. With Fox rider Ryan Dungey in a title fight for the West Coast Championship San Diego is an important race for all the title contenders to make their statement and send the rest of the riders on the break searching for answers.

Ryan Dungey rode awesome all day. He was quickest in both practice sessions, won his heat race; led all 15 laps of the main winning his 3rd main event of the season and moved into the points lead with only 2 races left in the series. Not a bad weekend!

FOX rider Trey Canard also rode one of his best races of the season finishing 4th in the main and also winning his heat race in dominate fashion. It’s great to see Trey back up front where he belongs. Trey’s GEICO team mate Dan Reardon was running 5th in the main and looking for his first top 5 finish of the season but unfortunately Dan had a big crash in the whoops and ended up 18th.

It was a great weekend for FOX with Ryan and Trey winning both heat races and Ryan winning the main with Trey just off the podium. FOX won all the LITES races well not the last chance qualifier but I will take the 3 we won over all 4! The west coast now goes on hiatus for 7 weeks. More next week from Atlanta where FOX riders Brett Metcalfe and Blake Wharton return to action in the East Coast LITES series.

UPDATE... FOX Yourself "At School" Contest

Posted on 10/24/2008

I LIKE YOUR MOVES PARTY PEOPLE!
You may notice that some of the submissions having entirely nothing to do with the theme : "At School" have been removed from this contest. Not to worry... They are not gone just simply moved to the "Go Fox Yourself" folder in our photo archives. I left the REAL entries up for everyone to view, get inspired from , and try to conquer. There are some really good entries here! I want to see you guys step it up though. Along with the Fox Prize pack that I'm going to give away, I will also throw in a pair of Fox shoes to go along with the prize as a Bonus. I want to see you show me how stoked you are on Fox, "At School" I don't recall seeing one Fox head tapped to the back of anyones shirt, drawn on a chalkboard, on a desk, in a saturday school classroom, or really anywhere except on notebook paper. Just a hint... there are lots of those, get creative! Most creative wins. However, there are some really good notebook doodles. So far one of them is the winner. Enter while you can.
Good luck!
Love,
ljeezy | FOX
