Q&A - Personal

Why do you like this sport?

I enjoy the speed, the physical work out and the lifestyle. I love the travel to places we ride and the beautiful scenery where we ride.

What inspires you to compete?

I was able to get into this sport later in life. I however, thought I would be too old to race. After I did some research, I found that many series offer categories for older riders. Seeing the success of riders in the pro ranks at or beyond my age, inspired me to follow my passion for racing and the comeraderie of competition. I've wanted to race all my life and seeing guys like Gust, Eichner and Penland doing it meant I could take a shot too without being self concious about my age or ability.

Describe your style...

Professional, detail orientated and ambitious. I appreciate my sucess and look for challenges. Pretty easy to get along with too.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I do. I do weights three times a week with cardio almost every day. I take Fridays off but watch my diet closely and try to keep disciplined.

How's Life Treating You?

Pretty good I think. I have a wonderful wife, great family and friends and a job I enjoy. I am able to enjoy this sport and now I am challenging myself with racing. I am happy.
